Warren Platner: Mid-Century Modern Furniture for Knoll

Warren Platner is a world renowned furniture designer whose collection was heavily inspired by his background in architecture, which he studied at Cornell University. After graduating, he went on to work with some of the most prominent architects in the United States, including the firms of Eero Saarinen and Kevin Roche in the early and mid-1960s. Platner is primarily remembered for his trademark furniture collection for Knoll.  In 1966, Platner unveiled his collection of chairs, ottomans and tables. Platner himself formulated the production of the complicated pieces, many of which were constructed from over one hundred cylindrical steel rods and over a thousand welds.  With its complex and distinguished design, the collection was, and continues to be, a staple of modern design.

A few pieces now available at One and Home.
