Edward J Wormley For Dunbar | Mid-Century Walnut Dining Table - Gently Owned

Edward J Wormley (1907 – 1995) was a leading American furniture designer who studied for a limited time at the Art Institute of Chicago (1926-1928).  He did not graduate and went to work for the interior design studio at Marshall Fields & Company department store in Chicago, IL.  During the Great Depression, he was introduced to the President of Dunbar Furniture, and the rest is history.

Wormley and Dunbar embraced Modern design, but also incorporated  classical influence along with European and Scandinavian innovations.  Using only the finest materials with superb craftsmanship, Edward J. Wormley positioned himself along side his great Modern contemporaries.
